NATHAN HALE HOMECOMING GAME
------------------------------- OK kids, we finally got permission to use the parking lot across from Eastside Stadium again this year for our Homecoming Game Tailgate Party. The PTSA will be providing paper goods & plastic ware. The Quarterback Club will bring pop & bottled water – and maybe some cookies. I wanted to do something besides hamburgers this year, so I’m considering either BBQ beef sandwiches or hot dogs with all the fixins’. At the moment, I’m leaning heavily in favor of the easier one – hot dogs – but send me your vote, or suggestions for something besides those. Keep in mind that if you make alternate suggestions – you’re probably gonna get to the be one to fix it. LOL! I assume that we’ll be feeding approximately 100 alums, parents, teachers & students. BRING LAWN CHAIRS (+ extras if you have them), if you want to have some place to sit while you eat. We’ll need several servers, 2 or 3 large trash cans & bags and a clean-up crew. It would be great to have some GOOD party music too, but it’s too little time to have a band come set up & then just play for an hour. Does anyone have a DJ who owes them a favor???
If I recall correctly, we (NHAF) decided that we wanted to either sell or give away balloons at the Homecoming game. I will reserve a helium tank on Monday. I already have approx. 160 blue & silver balloons (80 of each color). I’ll pick up some more if you think we’ll need them. If we’re going to try to sell them, Michele will need to make arrangements for having a cash box & some change available. Personally, I’d like to see us give them out, just to be able to see as many as possible up in the stands that night, but I’ll go along with whatever the majority wants to do about that. NHAF: Send in your vote – SELL or GIVE AWAY Larry & I probably won’t have time to pick up the tank on Friday. Any volunteers with a pick-up truck that can do that?? We’ll also need a balloon crew to go over to the stadium at least 30-40 minutes before the game starts, to get set up and start blowing up balloons. I will be sending out an email to as many local alums as possible about Homecoming and the Tailgate Party early in the week. Please forward this message on to others who might like to help.
